The Twix
Born 1971, Bellshill Maternity. Learned his trade in the usual way for the "Flautist of Whifflet"
The flute being a bit of a poofy instrument, Dougie sought in vain for a way to attract the ladies. He soon realised that a pissed-up whistle player was what really turned on the chicks.

Twix started to play the flute at the age of 12. Coatbridge and its surrounding areas, in common with Northern Ireland, is one of the few places in the world where a guy playing flute at the age of 12 can avoid getting beaten-up and his lunch money knicked. Although classically trained, Dougie has found that the skill of the folk flautist is really in clapping enthusiastically at any opportunity. This allows the opportunity to slip the occassional voddie and Irn Bru over between verses.
Dougie is a keen devotee of the folk scene in Edinburgh and spends many weekends on field trips to the local hostelries to learn new material, which is hard if you only listen to Rantum Scantum (sorry lads;-P). Dougie frequents the dear blue place that is Ibrox Stadium, in the vain hope that the Gers'll get their act together sometime soon.
